Have Questions? We Have Answers.
Find answers to common questions about adoption, volunteering, and supporting our mission.
Adoption Process
What are the adoption fees?
Fees vary by age (e.g., puppies ~$300, adults ~$200). This helps cover spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping.
Can I adopt if I live in an apartment?
Yes! We focus on matching the right pet with the right lifestyle, not the size of your home. An active apartment dweller can be a perfect match.
About Our Animals
Where do your animals come from?
They come from various situations: some are strays, some are surrendered by owners, and many are transferred from overcrowded shelters where they were at risk.
Are all animals spayed/neutered?
Yes, absolutely. Every dog and cat is spayed or neutered before adoption. It's a core part of our mission to combat pet overpopulation.
Saving one animal won't change the world, but for that one animal, the world will change forever.
Volunteering & Fostering
What are the requirements to volunteer?
You must be at least 18 years old (or 16 with consent) and be able to commit a few hours per month. Most importantly, you need a positive attitude and a love for animals. We provide all the training!
What is fostering?
Fostering means providing a temporary home for an animal in need (e.g., young kittens, pets recovering from surgery). Pawsitive Haven covers all costs for food and medical care; you simply provide a safe, loving space.
Donations & Support
Your financial contribution is the lifeblood of our operations. It directly funds critical areas such as emergency veterinary care for newly rescued animals, spay/neuter surgeries to combat overpopulation, essential vaccinations, nutritious food for all our residents, and the operational costs of keeping our shelter safe and clean. Every dollar makes a tangible impact.
Yes, Pawsitive Haven is a registered non-profit organization. All monetary donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. You will automatically receive a receipt for your online donation via email, which you can use for your tax purposes.
Absolutely! We are always in need of physical supplies. Our most-needed items typically include unopened bags of high-quality dog and cat food (both wet and dry), durable toys, new or gently used blankets and towels, and cleaning supplies like paper towels and pet-safe detergents. Please visit our "Get Involved" page for a detailed and up-to-date wishlist.
Yes, making a tribute donation is a wonderful way to honor a loved one. During the online donation process, you will have the option to specify that your gift is in honor or in memory of someone. We can also send a notification of your thoughtful gift to a person of your choosing.
We love partnering with local businesses! Companies can get involved through corporate sponsorships, matching gift programs, hosting a donation drive at your workplace, or sponsoring one of our fundraising events. Please visit our "Get Involved" page or contact us directly to discuss partnership opportunities.
Financial support is just one piece of the puzzle! You can make a huge difference by volunteering your time, becoming a foster parent, or simply by being our advocate. Spreading the word about our mission and sharing our adoptable animals on social media costs nothing but has an immeasurable impact. Your voice is one of our most powerful tools.
